Many people are still unaware of the important uses of SEO, but with time and more expansion they will learn. Every search engine has it’s own set of rules and regulations regarding what is legal and illegal uses of SEO.
SEO involves attaining a higher ranking in search engines via changes to your site content and code to make it more relevant and therefore more search engine compatible. SEO Donovans is still a great way to bring in more profits with your Affiliate Marketing campaigns. It involves selecting the most targeted keywords or keyword phrases that relate to your web site. Since the online business in becoming highly competitive, websites who practice Search Engine Optimisation have an edge over their competitors. When properly optimised, an SEO campaign can deliver long-term gains, better accessibility and cross browser compatibility.
Keywords are an integral part of your online marketing campaign. Its not a good practice to add more than 20-30 words in Meta keywords. Both the Meta keywords tag and the Meta description tag contribute to your search engine ranking. A Meta keywords tag is supposed to be a brief and concise list of the most important themes of your page. When the search spiders crawl through your blog, they are looking for references to the keywords you have chosen as well as references to your description of your blog.
In an ideal world search engines would just find you by following links to your site, but in reality this could also take months. A simple link from an established site will get the search engines to visit the new site and begin to spider its contents. It can take a few days to even weeks from the referring of a link from such an established site for all the main search engine spiders to commence visiting and indexing the new site. Search engines crawl the Internet by following links on web sites, so if no one has linked to your new site, the search engine can’t know you’re there, as it isn’t like walking down the street and suddenly stumbling upon it.
SEO - Writing the SEO FAQ Article
In this post, I will explain you how to optimize a webpage by defining page optimization and then I will also explain how to optimize your homepage to maximize the search engine rank. Please keep in mind that all search engines don't index pages in a same manner. Therefore SEO techniques won't promise you maximum output in all search engines.
We do page optimization to make our web page friendlier to search engines. Page optimization guarantees that your web page is functioning in a very easy way that the search engines can understand. I want to reiterate on a fact that I mentioned you in an earlier post. Never try to make your website more search engine friendly which is not much friendly to the visitors. Then your website will look uncomfortable to read and it won't attract visitors. Followings are the main procedures that you must follow to optimize you webpage and home page.
I assume that you have gained knowledge in keyword search from my earlier post here. There I mentioned that, you must find the most suitable key word phrase for each web page. Put the primary keyword in the title of the web page. It means that you have to put the primary keyword in between the tags of the HTML code. The best practice is adding in the first position of the title or closer to the beginning of the title. Unless there is a special need to put your website title in each and every web page title, don't put it. If you really want to add your website title and want to promote it as a brand, put it at the end of the page title, after the primary keyword. Always make sure that your page title is shorter.
Some people think that META tags are important in SEO. But actually you don't have to worry about them much as it doesn't affect your ranking very much. But it is a good practice to add some description about your web page in the META tags. This description will be displayed in the search description of your web page in search engines. I have to mention the same thing regarding the META KEYWORD tag. But you can add Meta keyword tags with your primary keyword phrase, its synonyms and if possible some misspelled phrases of your primary keyword phrase. If you put multiple Meta keyword tags you must separate them with commas.
Keep in mind to add the header as same as your page title key word phrase informat. This will give more support to emphasis your page title and keyword phrase to the search engine. It is a good practice to use sub headers (in or format) with some description in every paragraph start. Try to do this at least in before few paragraphs' starting. If you can break your content to make sure that they are easy to read (by numbering or using bulleted list), it will look better.
Next is your home page. You must pay a good attention to your home page optimization as it is the first page that visitors will see often. You must put all the WORKING links of other main web pages in your home page. And make sure that it is possible to reach every page through your home page. I don't mean that all the links to the other pages must be put in the home page. Your home page must provide access to all the pages with the help of the intermediate main pages. But you must link all the major category pages to your home page. As I mentioned in the key word search post, you must put the best keyword for your business niche in the home page title. Use META tags and META KEYWORD tags in the home page also. But it is not a necessary thing. This will improve the readability of your website.
These are the most important things that you must consider to optimize your web pages and home page. I hope that you gained a good knowledge on this part. If you need to clarify anything related to this, you can always contact me through email@example.com. I will make sure that all of your questions are answered. I will explain you how to optimize your whole website and register in web directories to build traffic, in the next post.
SEO Donovans – Web Page Optimization And Home Page Optimization
Understanding the algorithms used by search engines, such as Google, can be mystifying. Let's start at the beginning:
What is a Search Engine Algorithm?
An algorithm is a mathematical process used by a computer to solve a problem or answer a question. Google, launched in 1998, is the leading search engine. The search engine algorithm was designed to find files on the internet.
Google uses many algorithms, but the very first one ever used is called PageRank, which measures the importance of all web pages (PageRank is named after Larry Page, the software developer and Google co-founder). PageRank functions by counting the quantity and quality of links to certain web pages to determine an estimate of the website's importance, and thus, its ranking as compared to other websites in the same field or category.
Google has used the assumption that the more important websites are most likely to have more links from other websites, and therefore rates the website with a higher ranking on the search engine results page (SERP). PageRank happens to be the most widely known algorithm used by Google. A whole industry of business services to take advantage of PageRank is now called Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Google's algorithms change about 500-600 times per calendar year - more than once every day. The changes are implemented to make the search experience more relevant for the user. Most of the changes are minor, and don't usually change website's ranking to any noticeable degree.
For nearly two decades, Google has been refining their search engine service, becoming more sophisticated, with their massive algorithms affecting the way websites are ranked.
What is an algorithm update?
Major updates have been rolling out on a regular basis, both named and unnamed. Companies providing SEO services devote their resources to figuring out how each change affects the websites they manage. The stakes are very high, especially for websites engaged in ecommerce. If a website is built and maintained using best practices, with a focus on unique content and an easy-to-navigate user experience, the website will rate well. A strong rating turns into a superior page ranking which will provide more website traffic.
Some of the named updates over the years have been: Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, Pigeon, Possum, RankBrain, Mobilegeddon, and Pirate. Each update relates to a specific aspect of a website, such as website link quality, semantic content search, and mobile friendly (or responsive) websites.
How are algorithm updates revealed?
This is fascinating: some updates are announced; others are rolled out covertly and are full realized by watching page ranking activity. Google sometimes confirms the updates after the update is launched. Lately, Google has been silent about confirming their algorithm updates. The SEO industry watches the metrics carefully to determine what aspect of page ranking is being affected. When they notice large changes in search results, they conclude that an algorithm update has occurred.
What is the Fred Update?
On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, industry experts noticed major changes while using Google tracking tools. This algorithm change has been dubbed the Fred Update.
Until the experts full digest the meaning of the page rankings, the nature of the update is speculative. The Fred Update is showing early signs of being associated with the quality - not content - of links. Gary Illyes, Webmaster Trends Analyst at Google, tweeted a picture of colorful Fred the fish on March 7: "DYK for each search result there may be several title candidates & the one that it's believed to work best for query is shown to the users".
Since there is an evaluation taking place to select the best query result, looking at pages that rank better than your website may uncover opportunities to improve content without duplication. Unique content and quality linking to and from your website will help improve page ranking. The most recent massive algorithm update to date is Google Penguin 4.0 (Phase 1 and Phase 2). This update largely removes the penalty for bad links on sites, and in turn devalues the bad links, which still negatively affects rankings, but not to such a degree that sites are penalized.
Penguin was significant in that it targeted low quality websites that contained 'spammy' content. Their main concern was with flagging websites that would harm user's computers or cell phones.
Google Penguin 4.0
The Google Penguin update had been on in development, under revision, for two years before being released. The update actually launched on September 27, 2016.This update was unusual because it was multiphasic, taking quite a bit longer to be released than most other algorithm updates.
The second phase was released on October 6, 2016. After this second phase launched, the algorithm "temperature" dropped off and got relatively back to normal. Moz reports the weather by day showing the temperature or turbulence of the Google algorithm. When Google makes a change, there is often a shakeup of the page rankings. This week the Moz temperature is 94o; this shows the likely effect of the Fred Update.
Knowing the complex nature of evaluating the worthiness of a website, understanding these updates, and recognizing how the algorithms affect a website and its ranking is the work of companies who provide SEO services. You may choose to carry out this work in-house, but hiring an outside firm to handle your SEO is often money very well spent.
SEO - What is SEO?
Write yoast style on your blog and you'll learn the key components of popular SEO writing results that work anywhere you might write.
Yoast is a plugin for WordPress. If you don't have it, you might want to ask your webmaster to add it to your WordPress blog. If you do have it, follow the directions below to learn how to best use it.
1 - Keyword Phrase
Use your keyword phrase as the first 3 - 5 words in your title, in a sub header (header 2), and as the alt text for a graphic you use in your article. If possible, use the same words as anchor text for a link you place in the content, as well.
2 - Edit Meta Description Snippet
Edit the snippet in the yoast file box, by adding about 20 words using your keyword phrase in the snippet. This is an important part of helping others find your article online.
3 - Write 300 Words or More
If you don't have more than three hundred words to say about a given topic, it probably isn't worth the effort, because that's the minimum number of words you need. And they should be value driven words. Don't be lazy. Add real content and make sure they add value to your site.
4 - Use Short Sentences
Yeah, I know. I can't do this, even if I'm forced... But I try. So, because the program requires it. I'm learning to shorten my sentences. Sometimes, using odd methods to CUT the length of a sentence.
5 - Keep it Simple Stupid
Okay, that word may not be nice, according to my granddaughter, but it's a word. Furthermore, it's a principle. Use it. The principle, not the word.
6 - Use Transition Words
Yeah, this one drives me nuts too. But it's a requirement. Yoast wants at least 30% of your sentences to have a transition word, because they say so. Words like: and, first of all, finally, in addition, because, since, therefore, same, less, yet, opposite, consequently, most noteworthy, most of all, especially, and relevant. If you don't use these words, you'll quickly become superfluous, in the eyes of yoast. Just do it.
7 - Write in Active Voice
This is important. It makes the article easier to read, and gives it more impact. Shorter sentences also help with readability and voice, because you don't overwrite your thoughts.
Keep your sentences under 20 words each - this is a requirement as well. And do this!
If you find you just can't --- hire a content writer. It's worth the money!
